What Is This Site?

First thing's first: this site ir a work in progress. If you find bugs or things I should be doing better, please report them to me on my GitHub for this site. The link is on the right.

Simply put, this site is an aggregation of my public activity on the internet. If you wanted to stalk me, it was really difficult. My activity was scattered. Now it can be contained in one place under my control. I may not have everything aggregated now, but I'll get around to it. I think I want to add StackOverflow and Blogger next.

Why Build This Site?

There are a lot of answers to this one. It all started because I wanted to expand my knowledge of Scala and use the libraries listed on the right.

Then I had the idea to build this site. I always hated that I had no central place to find something that I had said or done. Now that everything is (almost) aggregated, I can start learning another technology on my list, Apache Solr. Without the ability to search, I really only have a long list of my activity.

Resumes suck. Whether or not I'm looking for a job doesn't matter. I alway tell co-ops and other candidates that having a public display of what they can do says a lot more about them than one page of marketing. It was time that I made something that shows off my skills. Hell, maybe someone else will fork thes for their own personal use.

What's Next?

First of all, I need to upgrade the libraries that I'm using. I've upgraded Backbone and Bootstrap on another project of mine so I know what kinds of things to watch out for. It will just take time.

Well, there's a lot. I need to aggregate more than a couple of my feeds. Also, I have a bastardized ATOM feed right now. I should probably make that a valid feed. Lastly, and almost most importantly, I need to add search. I've dabbled with Apache Solr before, but never with MongoDB. To query Solr, Foursquare has another project that interests me that I might use; it's called Slashem.
